Teacher and Illumination
This album is devoted to our Teacher – BKS Iyengar on his 95th Jubilee.
So I would like to thank our Guruji, Geeta Iyengar, Prashant Iyengar, and all teachers of First Wave ( names) for their fidelity, energy, kindness, firmness, shining of their eyes and unquenchable enthusiasm during all life.
Thank you very much for your being and present in my life!
I try to show the Guruji’s talent and force during their lessons and Guruji’s first student during their teaching through the lance of my camera. This Album is about The Teacher and the light spreading from them.
All photos had been made since 2006 till 2013 during a lot of seminars in Moscow (Russia) and Rapolano (Italy). Unfortunately I have no opportunity to shoot Geeta and Prashant Iyengar during their teaching, that is why I have used the photo from RIMYI’s archive. This album wouldn’t be finished without these great persons.
Thank you very much my colleges – Valentina Elina (Iyengar’s yoga teacher in Moscow) and Andrey Ragozin (photographer) for help in creation of this album.
Gester of honer to Guruji and a big gratitude all teachers, that photos gather in this Album.
Namaste!
This album is dedicated to our teacher, BKS Iyengar, for his 95th birthday.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gurudji and all the ‘first wave’ teachers – ( перечислить имена и фамилии) for their commitment to the art, their energy, kindness, strictness and burning passion. Their boundless, lifelong enthusiasm is striking for it is only commonly found in teachers in their early years of practice. I am thankful that you are here and that our paths crossed.
Through the lens of a camera I set out during the workshops to capture the aura and talent of Gurudji, as well as his first students that have now become the leading teachers. This album is about the Teacher in a broad sense, and the light that shines from true teachers.
All the photographs were taken during the seminars in Moscow, Russia and Rapolano, Italy between 2006 and 2013. Unfortunately, I did not manage to capture Gita Iyengar and Prashonta Iyengar during their classes so I put in a photograph from the Institute in Puna, for without these extraordinary individuals this album would not be complete.
